psalms 22 & 23: what a difference a chapter makes

March 30, 2010

22: my GOD, my GOD, why have YOU forsaken me?

23: the LORD is my shepherd; i shall not want.

22: GOD, i cry all day and all night, and YOU do not answer.

23: HE restores my soul.

22: i am a worm and not a man; i am despised by the people.

23: i fear no evil; YOU are with me.

22: strong bulls surround me; they open their mouths to devour me like a roaring lion.

23: YOU prepare a banquet table for me in the presence of my enemies.

22: my bones are out of joint, my heart melts like wax, my strength is dried up, my tongue sticks to my jaws, i lay in the dust of death

23: YOU annoint my head with oil.

22: dogs and evildoers surround me.

23: goodness and mercy follow me.

22: they have pierced my hands and feet; they stare and gloat over me.

23: i will live in the LORD’s house forever.
